Kick-off partnership inkjet-bioAM in Granada, Spain
To improve health care the inkjet-bioAM project aims to integrate inkjet printing technology into the value chain for the manufacture of medical and pharmaceutical products. On March 31th the partners met in Granada to kick-off the collaboration.
As a hardcore engineering and technology company, DoMicro is driven by the passion and ambition to translate advanced manufacturing technologies into impactful, real-world applications. The Inkjet BioAM project aligns with our mission to enable innovative solutions in electronics, materials science, and healthcare. We are particularly motivated by the potential of inkjet-based drug delivery systems to improve the quality of life for vulnerable patient groups, such as children and people with xerostomia. This use case represents an exciting opportunity to apply our expertise in high-precision digital manufacturing to a socially relevant, patient-centric innovation.
DoMicro leads the pilot line for developing functional medication for transdermal blister or patch applications using active pharmaceutical ingredients. We oversee lab-scale validation and technology optimization using our LP50 platform, while ensuring scalability and GMP compliance to support a successful transition from R&D to pilot production and market readiness.
Following our visit to our consortium partners TIGER and RCPE in Austria, we’re looking forward to continuing our strong collaboration. We are committed to making solid progress, particularly in validating activities related to the development of the pilot line for printing personalized medicine.
